My Story

Snowdonia for Science was founded in 2008 by the inspiring Matt Rannamets who had prostate cancer. He wanted to bring like-minded people together to raise funds and take on a unique challenge. Prostate cancer sadly took Matt’s life but his legacy lives on with this inspiring event.

On 13th June 2026 I am taking part in Snowdonia for Science 2026.

I will be trekking to the summit of Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) all in aid of Prostate Cancer Research.

The best part of reaching the summit is knowing that each step I, and the other supporters taking part with me, take is a step towards raising vital funds and awareness for Prostate Cancer Research.

Together with your donations and my desire to get to the Summit, we can take on Snowdon and transform the lives of people with prostate cancer by advancing diagnosis, developing treatments and securing universal screening.

Snowdonia for Science 2026 is about community and about the immense strength that comes from people coming together with purpose and a shared desire we all hold: to stop prostate cancer from unnecessarily and prematurely claiming the lives of the men we love.

Support me today and give me that extra courage to reach the summit.
