My Story

Snowdonia for Science was founded in 2008 by the inspiring Matt Rannamets, following his prostate cancer diagnosis. He brought people together to raise funds while taking on a meaningful challenge. Although Matt sadly lost his life to prostate cancer, his legacy lives on through this incredible event.

On 13th June 2026, we will be taking part in Snowdonia for Science as a team from IT Naturally.

There are eight of us taking on the challenge together: Richard (CEO), Gerry (EUC Engineer), Patrick (Operations Manager), Mark (Senior EUC Engineer), John (Operations Admin), Jay (Cyber Security Engineer), and me, Dominika (Project Manager). We’ll also have some brilliant support along the way – Gerry, Patrick and I are joined by our wives, Celia, Nicola and Katarzyna.

We’ll be trekking to the summit of Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) to raise funds for Prostate Cancer Research – and for us, this is about more than just reaching the top.

At IT Naturally, giving back is a core part of who we are. Taking on this challenge together felt like the perfect way to combine teamwork, a shared goal, and a cause that matters. Every step we take up that mountain is a step towards raising awareness and supporting vital research.

The best part of reaching the summit won’t just be the view – it will be knowing that, together with your support, we’re helping to make a real difference. Funds raised go towards improving diagnosis, developing treatments, and working towards universal screening, so fewer lives are cut short by prostate cancer.

Snowdonia for Science is about community, resilience, and coming together with purpose. It’s about doing something meaningful for the men in our lives – colleagues, friends, fathers, partners – and for future generations.
